Biography
Anyou Wang, PhD, graduated from University of California, Riverside, has broad backgrounds in computer science, biology, mathematics, and statistics. His interest is in computational biology and he seeks to systematically unearth the biologically meaningful patterns from complex biological data like those from next-generation sequencing. For example, by integrating genome-wide multiple datasets, he revealed the general miRNA functions in stem cells and developed algorithms and software to establish a quantitative system for distinguish stem cell types. After moved to UCSF, Dr. Wang will employ frontier mathematics theories to uncover the fundamental basis of transplantation rejections and develop quantitative systems to predict these rejections.
