Biography
Parhom Towfighi graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in December of 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. He joined the Sarwal Lab in July of 2017, working as a Staff Research Associate I, as well as a Clinical Research Coordinator. His primary laboratory duties consist of sample collection, sample processing, and qPCR analysis on whole blood and urine RNA from kidney transplant patients. His clinical duties consist of patient enrollment and consenting, as well as urine and whole blood sample collection. Parhom's main research focus is on studying the immunologic cross-talk between the adaptive and innate immunity in relation to CMV (Cytomegalovirus) in kidney transplant patients. Parhom's future aspiration is to attend medical school in the Fall of 2019.
